Studies* show that what Dad eats REALLY matters and has a large impact on what kids eat. The children of Dads who eat vegetables with their meals, are more likely to eat vegetables than the children who’s Dads eat less vegetables. Similarly, if dad’s diet is high in energy from fat and sugar then their children’s diet is likely to be as well.
Dads are really important role models for healthy family eating behaviours. However, in our fast-paced lifestyle if can be difficult for dads to eat all meals with their children, especially if they work long hours or commute to work. However, try to make the most of when dad is around e.g. on the weekend, breakfast time, to show your children that dad eats healthily too!
