Adelle Purbrick - Principal Dietitian
Adelle Purbrick is the Principal Dietitian for Body Balance Nutrition. Adelle graduated from Alstonville High School and after extensive travel and work experience, she returned to the North Coast NSW to establish Body Balance Nutrition to service the health care and sport nutrition needs of the local community.
Adelle is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD), Accredited Nutritionist (AN), Accredited Sports Dietitian (ASD) and member of Dietitians Association Australia. Adelle studied a Bachelor of Health Science: Nutrition & Dietetics (1st Class Hons) at QUT in Brisbane with a minor in Sport Nutrition and completed a Sport Nutrition course at the Australian Institute of Sport.
Professional experience
As a wide traveller, Adelle has professional experience working in various countries and cultures (Australia, England, Ireland, Scotland, Tonga and Fiji) and across various fields of Nutrition and Dietetics including clinical dietetics (such as Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital), community nutrition (such as Diabetes Education and Specialist Service), private practice, health promotion and nutrition education (Tonga), and performance sports nutrition (Scottish Institute of Sport, QLD Academy of Sport, North Coast Academy of Sport).
More recently, Adelle has specialised in the following fields: Eating Disorders (Adelle is trained in CBT-E for Eating Disorders and holds the ANZAED Eating Disorder Credential), Gastro-intestinal issues (e.g. IBS, Low FODMAP diet); and Allergy and Intolerance (ASCIA Professional Certificate in Medical Nutrition Therapy for Food Allergy & Intolerance and RPAH Food Chemical Elimination Diet for Food Intolerance).
Personal ethos
“As a mother of 2 gorgeous children, I role model natural normal eating (eating all foods in accordance with your appetite). I strive to ensure my family enjoy fresh, wholesome, seasonal and local food as much as possible, but more importantly, that we eat together as a family and share meals with extended family and friends”.
Adelle is a keen sports enthusiast, competing in basketball, triathlon, running, adventure racing, and mountain biking. Recently, with 2 young children, Adelle’s main sports include surfing, cycling and walking.

Anna Porter - Dietitian
Anna is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and a member of the Dietitians Association of Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics from Griffith University and also studied a Bachelor of Food and Nutrition at LaTrobe University. Anna brings both professional expertise and a personal understanding of balancing family life with health and wellness goals.
As a proud mother of three, Anna understands the challenges of balancing family commitments while striving to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This personal experience drives her to work closely with individuals, empowering them to make informed, sustainable changes that enhance their health and quality of life. Anna’s approach focuses on person-centred care, helping individuals understand the connection between diet and disease management, and improving long-term outcomes through evidence-based interventions.
In addition to her ongoing clinical work as a Dietitian with the Northern NSW Local Health District, Anna has led various community-based sessions on nutrition, physical activity, and behaviour change for children and families, promoting healthy eating and active living.
Outside of work, Anna enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Weekends are often spent at the beach, surfing/ fishing or attending her children’s netball and cricket games. She also stays active by enjoying outdoor fitness sessions and Pilates with other local mothers, incorporating movement into her daily routine.
