I came across the following concept and thought it a useful way to think about managing your portions and food intake: Think of your stomach in thirds. When you eat 1/3 should be filled with food; 1/3 with liquid and 1/3 should be left empty for movement to aid the digestive process. Not only does this concept help to prevent over eating, but it aids digestion too!
